Description

Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources presents a Beyond BOW (Becoming an Outdoors Woman) Deer Field to Fork workshop designed for women to learn how to deer hunt alongside other women. This workshop is paired with a mentored crossbow hunt on October 12th – 14th. The location for the hunt will be advertised at the workshop. You must attend the workshop to attend the hunt. Every participant must have their orange card (hunter safety card) and a hunting license to attend the workshop. Each participant who intends to hunt must have their deer tag. You can find links to all of these at fw.ky.gov. There are no overnight accommodations for the workshop. All equipment for the workshop and the hunt will be provided. If you have your own equipment that you would like to bring to become more familiar with, we encourage you to do so. The featured method of take will be crossbows (no need to bring firearms). Something to take notes on is suggested. Dress for the weather and be prepared to be exposed to the elements and uneven ground. Be prepared to get dirty, possibly stained clothes, as this workshop is very hands on. If you have any questions please contact the program coordinator.
