Friday night will consist of covering the basics for squirrel hunting, practicing shooting shotguns, a practical exercise to practice carrying firearms in the field, learning how to clean and cook squirrels, and preparing your hunting clothes by treating them with Premetherin Bug Spray. We will serve a dinner when you arrive at 6PM. Please bring ALL of your clothes that you plan to hunt with on Saturday including: boots, socks, pants, shirt, jacket/hoodie (weather dependent), hat, game vest (optional). The Premetherin spray will be provided. If you would like to hunt with your personal firearm, please bring it and the correct ammunition for it Friday night to practice with it. If you have questions about what ammo is best, you can email the program coordinator. If you do not own a firearm there will be one loaned to you. On Friday, you will also meet your mentor and plan for the Saturday hunt. This will be a one on one style mentorship. If you would like to hunt with one additional person there will only be one firearm that will be shared for safety reasons. Please email the program coordinator prior to the workshop if you wish to hunt as a pair.
