Description:
GENERAL: This course is intended for new or novice deer hunters. Because of limited space, experienced deer hunters and previous participants should not register for this course. Lodging is available at no cost to paid registrants if desired; optional cabin bunk or tent camping space (bring your bedding for bunk, tent and gear for camping). Shower house and drinking water available at campground on site. Venison-themed luncheon provided Saturday. Rifles, ammunition, crossbows, hunting blinds and related equipment are provided for participants.
MENTORED HUNTS: Crossbows and related equipment are provided for participants in mentored hunts. An annual hunting license + deer permit is required for participants who wish to hunt. We will attempt to schedule participants for particular mentor hunt timeslots for convenience based on their travel distance, availability of mentors of the same gender, etc. Otherwise, hunt timeslots will be selected for participants at random. Participants who wish to hunt should either: 1) have a Hunter Ed certification card; 2) complete the classroom portion online; or 3) purchase a $5 1-Year Temporary Hunter Ed Exemption Permit here: https://fw.ky.gov/Education/Pages/Hunter-Education.aspx#temppermit. We will offer the required Hunter Ed range portion on site Saturday for those who complete their online classroom portion and bring their certificate with them to the course.
