Description:

This class is for beginner anglers or anglers whom may need a refreshment on the basics that are 16 yrs old or older. We will cover topics such as rod and reel set up, knot tying, hook selection, how to cast, how to take a fish off the hook, fish id, where to fish ect. This class takes around an hour and half in a “classroom” setting, the second part of the class takes part at the lake. We will spend a few hours fishing, putting the newly acquired skills to use. When we complete the fishing portion we will cover how to clean fish (you will have the opportunity to try this if you want) and how to cook them. The program will wrap up with a fish lunch and sides!

Directions:

We will meet at the Crescent Hills Library for the classroom portion located at  2762 Frankfort Ave, Louisville, KY 40206 . The class will then move to Cherokee Park Lake located near by for a free fish lunch for participants. While at the lake we will cover fish cleaning and safe food handling and also spend some time fishing.
