This program is designed for those who wish to learn about spring turkey hunting in Kentucky. Throughout the workshop we will cover topics such as turkey biology, habitat, hunting regulations, hunting techniques, scouting, equipment and clothing, using calls, breasting out a turkey, how to cook wild turkey meat, patterning your shotgun and much more! Experienced turkey hunters from the Double Eagle Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will share their knowledge and turkey hunting experience with you. The Kentucky Dept. of Fish and Wildlife Resources will be providing all of the equipment for the workshop and range. However, if you own a shotgun that you wish to practice with, or have any personal equipment that you have questions about, you may bring it with you. No firearms or live ammo in the classroom, no exceptions. Transport your firearms cased, unloaded, with the safety on. If you have questions about these procedures please contact the program coordinator. Dress to be comfortable. 85% of the class will be indoors.
In the event of SNOW, we will cancel and reschedule for Saturday, March, 30th at the same locations, same times.
