Kentucky Hunters of Color (HOC) in partnership with Fern Creek Sportsman's Club and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources are hosting a one-day shotgun skills workshop at the Fern Creek Sportsman's Club. This event is for those who are interested in learning how to pattern a shotgun in preparation for the upcoming spring turkey season. At this event you’ll learn: firearm safety, types of shotguns, shotgun ammunition, how to pattern a shotgun, and spend time on the range shooting with instruction from qualified mentors. Most of this event will be outside so please dress for the weather. There will not be food served at this event so please plan accordingly. If you have your own shotgun you are welcome to bring it and the appropriate ammo to practice with it on the range. All firearms and ammunition should be left in your vehicle until you are instructed to go get it. There will be loaner equipment available including firearms, ammunition, eye protection, and ear protection. Everything else for the workshop will be provided by KY Fish and Wildlife and Fern Creek Sportsman's Club. Please reach out to the event coordinator with any questions you have.
