3D archery Benefit shoot for Buck Hollow Archery Club. Earlier this year they lost one of their target sheds to fire, using many of their targets, event tents, a 4-wheeler. Grant County 4-H Shooting Sports Club Meeting - Grant County

This event is open to club members, ages 9 to 18, that have passed necessary safety training. Archery of all types held from 6 PM to 8 PM on the second and fourth MONDAY of each month. .22 Riflery/Trap held from 6 PM to 8 PM on the second and fourth FRIDAY of each month. Meetings runs from March until November. To sign up to participate this is club, please call the Grant County Extension Office at (859) 824-3355 or visit them at 1212 N. Main St. Ste F Williamstown, KY 41097. A club enrollment form must be filled out for each participating youth. All youth enrolled must complete 6 hours of safety training classes providing by Grant County 4-H before participating in club.

Hook and Cook - Bardstown - Nelson County

This course will teach you the basics of catching and cleaning fish. Whether you are an experienced or a first-time angler, this course will teach you the skills and knowledge you need to get started in fishing.

The classroom portion covers basic concepts including fish identification, biology, fish habitat, equipment, conservation, improving water quality, licensing/regulations, proper selection and use of cooking tools, cooking safety, fish fileting techniques, recipes, proper food handling and storage techniques.

The field portion will be on 10/1/2024 in the afternoon, it will include but is not limited to: location selection, target areas, casting techniques, how to bait a hook, hook removal, safety. A valid KY fishing license is required on the day of the class. KDFWR will provide all the equipment and bait so participants can test out the newly acquired fishing skills.

This course will teach you the basics of catching and cleaning fish. Whether you are an experienced angler or a first-time fisherman, this course will teach you the skills and knowledge you need to get started in fishing.

Day 1 October 14th, 5:00pm-8:00pm, Warren County Cooperative Extension Office 

The classroom portion covers basic concepts including fish identification, biology, fish habitat, basic equipment, conservation, licensing/regulations, knot tying, both artificial and live bait selection and where to fish. 

Day 2 October 21st, 5:00pm-8:00pm, Warren County Cooperative Extension Office

The cooking portion includes, but is not limited to: how to filet fish, food preparation and cooking, proper meat storage and food sampling.

Day 3 October 28th 5:00pm-8:00pm, Baisle Griffin Park 

The field portion of the class includes fishing at Baisle Griffin Park, all equipment and bait will be provided.
