Free 3-D Archery Shoot for the community (Free for Everyone) at J - Caldwell County

Free 3-D archery shoot this is for everyone. There will be 30 3-D targets set up on the Jones-Keeney WMA range through the woods and hills. Targets from small to big. We give back to the community. So come on out and enjoy a day of archery with friends and family.

3-D ACRHERY AT JONES-KEENEY WMA ARCHERY RANGE HOSTED BY CALDWELL - Caldwell County

30 target 3-D archery course located in the woods and hills of the Jones-Keeney WMA. Hosted by the Caldwell County Sportsman Club. Our targets range from a small armadillo to a buffalo. Your get a unique experience unlike any other, we have moving targets and at times a steel change target. We welcome all ages and skill levels. We use ASA scoring with club rules. We hope to see you sometime out there. We also shoot 3-D year around out side. Also, we are only club that shoot 3-D after 2pm.

Skeet is best shot with an open choke - Improved Cylinder or Skeet - and #9 or #8 shot. The Club is sometimes open on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday for a few hours between 12 Noon and 8:00pm, for Kentucky Skeet Shooting Association (KSSA) practice sessions and alternate bad weather days. During these days, the Club is always Open to the Public. Specific times and dates for these events will be posted to the KDFWR calendar.

Hook and Cook - Elizabethtown - Hardin County

This course will teach you the basics of catching, cleaning and cooking fish. Whether you are an experienced angler or a first-time fisherman, this course will teach you the skills and knowledge you need to get started in fishing.

July 18th, 9:00am-5:00pm, Hardin County Cooperative Extension Office

The classroom portion covers basic concepts including fish identification, biology, fish habitat, equipment, conservation, licensing/regulations, knot tying, both artificial and live bait selection, hook removal, fishing safety, where to fish, how to filet fish, food preparation and cooking, proper food storage, and food sampling.

The afternoon will be the fishing portion of the class. KDFWR will provide all the equipment and bait so participants can test out the newly acquired fishing skills. This will be held at Freeman Park.

Hook and Cook - Louisville - Jefferson County

Join the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife and learn the basics of catching and cleaning fish. Whether you are an experienced angler or first-time fisherman, this workshop will teach you the skills and knowledge you need to get started. 

Each participant must have adult supervision, anyone 16 years of age or older must have a valid Kentucky fishing license. All equipment is provided. This class is offered in partnership with Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife and Waverly Lake.
