The Kentucky Dept. of Fish and Wildlife Resources and Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park have partnered to offer a Field to Fork - Learn to Hunt Turkey Workshop. This workshop will cover everything you need to know about hunting turkeys in Kentucky! Topics covered will include the history of wild turkeys in KY, turkey seasons and regulations, turkey biology and habitat, scouting techniques, gender and age ID, turkey calls and their meanings, basic hunting equipment, turkey hunting strategies, how to process a turkey, and how to cook your wild turkey meat.
The workshop will be held at the Glover Meeting Room located at the Lodge. There will be a Turkey Dinner Special served in the Lodge’s Clifty Creek Restaurant if you would like to grab lunch on your own before the workshop begins. If you plan to stay at the Park for this event, mention that you are staying for the Field to Fork event and receive a 10% discount on lodging when making reservations.
To attend this workshop, you MUST have a valid Kentucky annual hunting license. This is standard for all Field to Fork workshops. Don't forget, if you bought one any time after March last year, it will EXPIRE on February 29th of 2024! Licenses can be purchased here: https://app.fw.ky.gov/solar/
