Regulations

Cedar tree harvest scheduled at Meadow Creek WMA

A portion of Meadow Creek Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Wayne County will be included in a cedar tree harvest project scheduled Sept. 23 – Dec. 31, 2024. Cedar trees harvested from the WMA will be utilized for a fish habitat improvement project at Lake Cumberland.

To minimize disturbance to WMA users, no cedar harvest will occur during the youth-only deer gun season (Oct. 12-13), early deer muzzleloader (Oct. 19-20), deer modern gun season (Nov. 9-24), late deer muzzleloader season (Dec. 14-22) or the free youth weekend (Dec. 28-29). Ten miles east of Monticello or seven miles west of Burnside off HWY 90 and then south on HWY 1619 1.6 miles.
