Field to Fork - Deer Hunting Basics Webinar - Boone County

The Boone County Cooperative Extension Office has partnered with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources for a webinar covering the basics of deer hunting. This webinar will be packed with valuable information for the new deer hunter including deer ecology, deer hunting regulations, scouting for deer, hunting access on public and private lands, and basic deer hunting equipment.

2 different events. 1.) Know Your Limits- 2 Classes Iron Sights or Optics- Bi-pod or 1 Rest. 50 yards. You tell how many of the targets you can hit. Who can tell the most targets they can hit and actually hit them in 2 minutes wins. 6 shots maximum. 2.) Same targets as above with the same 2 different Classes at 50 yards. Caldwell County Sportsman Club's Annual Banquet and fun day, also - Caldwell County

Caldwell County Sportsman Club's Annual Banquet, fun day, and monthly meeting at the Jones Keeney WMA gun range. Fun day starts at 9:00 am. We will have several activities to do for all ages. At 12:00 pm we will break from activities and have our BBQ dinner. The BBQ will be from Copper Top. We are asking you to bring a side of your choice. We will provide the drinks. at 2:00 pm we will hold the drawing of the Charles Daly Tactical Shotgun. This is a RSVP event so we know how much BBQ to order. Becoming an Outdoors Woman Weekend-Camp Webb 2021 - Carter County

We strongly encourage you to read this confirmation letter in its entirety, imperative information is provided. Changes to your classes will not be permitted at the event. On-site check-in will start at 9:30-10:30am Friday and with the first Session starting at 1:30pm. The event will wrap up at Noon on Sunday, September 12. • Event fee is $95.00 plus participants must have a valid 2021 Fishing license if taking a fishing class.  Please be advised if you registered for a fishing class you MUST have a valid KY fishing license, this should be purchased ahead of time.

 Full refunds will be given until the close of business day on August 16. Cancellations made after August 16 or no-shows will forfeit their entire registration/event fee. Substitutes are accepted under the same class. .

A hotel room can be purchase at your OWN expense if not using onsite cabins and bunkhouses. You are welcome to stay in tents and hammocks if you want to pack them and use them! • Pack/wear clothing appropriate for outdoor activities, DO NOT wear clothes/shoes you don’t want to get wet, dirty or torn. Be prepared for inclement weather, sessions will go on rain or shine! Although its not required you may want to bring a water bottle, snacks, beverages, ice chest/cooler, raincoat, flashlight, insect repellent, sun screen

 • If registered for a class in which you bring your own bow/firearm please leave unloaded and in its case until your instructor advises use. • Camp Webb prohibits alcohol. • Cafeteria-style meal will be served for weekend. Should you have special dietary requirements a refrigerator space will be available; however, you must contact me prior to the event to receive approval for this need. Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) Week- Webinar Series - Franklin County

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources are co-hosting a three-part webinar series to celebrate the Becoming an Outdoor Woman week to kick off our Fall program. During this series, you will learn more about an introduction to fungi found in Southeast, what pollinators are found in KY and how to identify different fish species! **By registering through this link, you are reserving your spot for the entire 3-part series. Anyone 18 years and up can attend. Email communications will be sent out prior to each webinar.

September 7th, 7 PM ET – The Secret Lives of Fungi –Presented by volunteer instructor, Megan Buland We will discuss mushroom biology and ecology, and highlight the basics of how to identify different kinds of fungi. Commonly found mushrooms of Kentucky will be featured, as well as discussion surrounding the many roles fungi can play in ecology and forest health, from the good, to the bad, to the downright creepy. Just in time for fall rains and the mushrooms that accompany them, join us for some fun fungi facts.

September 8th, 7 PM ET –Pollinators in Kentucky-Presented by KDFWR Conservation Educator Nikki Nivison. This class will enhance your knowledge about KY various species that are considered pollinators and the process of pollination along with various ways you can help out.

September 9th, 7PM ET – Fish Identification, Presented by KDFWR Conservation Educator Andrew Wooldridge. This class you will learn more about the different types of fish species in Kentucky as well as easy ways to recognize one species from another! And learn where to go fishing!

Lloyd Area Skeet Club – Skeet on Fridays in - Grant County

Skeet is best shot with an open choke - Improved Cylinder or Skeet - and #9 or #8 shot. The Club is following all instructions from the State of Kentucky regarding the COVID 19 pandemic. If you are feeling sick, stay at home or see your medical professional. Please do not come to the Club.

Kentucky Houndsmen Association State Youth Championship Coonhound - Grant County

The KHA State Youth Championship participants must be 17 years old or younger. Activities will include a treeing contest, bench show and a night hunt.

Kentuckiana Youth Chapter of Quail Forever's Youth Day! - Jefferson County

The Kentuckiana Youth Chapter of Quail Forever Youth Event is scheduled Saturday, September 25th, 2021 at Fern Creek Sportsman’s Club, 15400 Brush Run Road, Louisville, KY. This event is designed for youth 10 to 16 years old. Boys and girls are encouraged to register their friends to attend. Limited to 35 youngsters at each session. To reserve your spot you must pre-register by phone or email no later than Sept. 18th. There will be a morning and afternoon session. The morning session starts at 8:30 A.M. and the afternoon session starts at 12:30 P.M. Attendees from each session should plan to have lunch with us at 11:30 A.M. Arrive by 8:00 A.M. for the morning session; 11:30.A.M. for the afternoon session to have lunch. Lunch will be served to all attendees from each session at 11:30 A.M. We will have a pointing dog demonstration at noon. A $15.00 Youth Membership Fee is requested Planned activities: * Trap shooting/instruction * Rod & reel casting/instruction * .22 cal. rifle shooting/instruction * Air Rifle shooting/instruction * Archery shooting/instruction * Bird dog demonstration at 12:00 P.M. * Lunch for participants/parents * Gun Safety Course We will have guns available, but you are welcome to bring your youth’s shotgun. ALL GUNS MUST REMAIN UNLOADED AND IN CASE EXCEPT WHEN ACTIVELY SHOOTING. We will have guns available. DO NOT BRING ANY AMMO. QF will provide all ammo and equipment needed for each event. Eye protection and hearing protection will be required for the shooting events - we will provide it if you don’t have your own. Dress appropriately for the weather (rain or shine) and wear appropriate footwear. For lunch and relaxing bring a chair for each person in your group. Hook and Cook (Laurel County) - Laurel County

This course will teach you the basics of catching and cleaning fish. Whether you are an experienced angler or a first-time fisherman, this course will teach you the skills and knowledge you need to get started in fishing.

 Portion 1

The classroom portion covers basic concepts including fish identification, biology, fish habitat, equipment, conservation, improving water quality, licensing/regulations, proper selection and use of cooking tools, cooking safety, fish fileting techniques, recipes, proper food handling and storage techniques.

Portion 2

The field portion includes, but is not limited to: location selection, target areas, casting techniques, knot tying, both artificial and live bait selection, how to bait a hook, hook removal, safety, when to fish (time of day/time of year), fileting fish, food preparation and cooking, and food sampling.
