The event cost is $25 per person to the Woodford County Extension Office. You must mail or drop off your payment no later than December 5th to secure your spot.
This event if for novice or beginner deer hunters who are 18 years old or older and Kentucky residence. This program is a workshop and hunt combined. NOTE: If you participate in this particular program, you will be apart of the Advanced Field to Fork Meat Processing workshop on December 15th for no extra charge. The intension is to use the deer that are harvested during this mentored hunt as the demonstration animals for the Meat Processing workshop. At the conclusion of the workshop on the 15th you will be able to take all of your meat home.
Friday, December 14th, will consist of the classroom session, a venison chili/stew lunch provided, range practice with .243 rifles, and an evening mentored hunt. Saturday, December 15th, will consist of a morning hunt that will end at 9:30AM, lunch provided, and the Advanced Field to Fork Meat Processing workshop. During the Advanced Field to Fork Meat Processing Workshop you will learn Butchering and Meat Safety, Canning, Grinding, Vacuum Sealing, and more!
