Description:

To participate in this event you must purchase an Annual Hunting License and a Deer Tag. You can do so here https://app.fw.ky.gov/solar/

The event cost is $25 per person to the Woodford County Extension Office. You must mail or drop off your payment no later than December 5th to secure your spot.

This event is for those who are interested in learning more about how to process their own deer and how to get the meat from the field to the fork. The day will begin with a venison stew lunch provided. During the Advanced Field to Fork Meat Processing Workshop you will learn Butchering and Meat Safety, Canning, Grinding, Vacuum Sealing, and more! Experts form the University of Kentucky, the Woodford County Extension office and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources will be there to teach these topics and help you gain more knowledge and confidence in procuring your own sustainable meat. The event will be outside for some portions and very hands on. Make sure you dress for the weather and wear something that might get a little dirty. If you have any questions about the program please contact the program coordinator who's information is listed.
